In the traditional teachings of our Navajo people the destroyer of peace is well knows. The Black Yeii’. But the Holy People are the ones who are all about peace. Everything they do is to encourage the Five-fingered being to live in peace.
In the 1800’s our Peace Chief “Ganado Mucho” lived up to this moniker. He taught and believed in his heart of hearts that it was possible for our people to live peacefully among the new settlers to the area.
He worked with “outsiders” like Lorenzo Hubell to bring farming, livestock, school, hospital, church… and more to the Navajo people.
True to his role as a Peace Chief, everything he did for his people was to encourage peace. Just like the Holy People.
