Stop Doing Whatever You Feel Like? Navajo Wisdom for Kinship
This video made free by our wonderful Warrior Producers. Learn More Here
In the traditional teachings of our Navajo people, there’s a teaching that addresses permissiveness, basically telling our Navajo people that it goes against the traditional way and harms family relationships.
Being permissive is being selfish, doing whatever you want or whatever makes you feel good. That’s not part of the program when you’re on the Beauty Path.
Instead, the traditional teachings advise people to think of family (Kinship) and do things in a family-oriented way.
Wally shares about this teaching in this video.
Are these ways gone? What do you think?
