In this week's video, Wally teaches about the power the Holy People gave the Five - Fingered Being over the weather.
He talks about the time before the Five-Fingered Being, when vegetation, insects, and birds were left to survive on their own. There was a problem because they couldn’t control the rain… sometimes there would be drought, and sometimes there would be floods.
That’s when the Holy People sent Coyote (who symbolizes the Five-Fingered Being) to control the weather. Coyote is taught that he has to be good and moral, have a plan, and know what he needs and wants when he asks the Holy People for rain.
The Holy People require sacrifice and, in many cases, the sacred stone offering when petitioning them for rain The female rain is the desirable one: it is the soft, gentle rain.
The male rain is the violent thunderstorm, which sometimes causes problems.
