Coyote is you

While it’s still winter time we will squeeze in one more Coyote story.

The trotting coyote stories are more than simple stories. As Navajo Historian, Wally Brown, teaches...They are meant to represent the five-fingered being (humankind).

In plain words Coyote is you. The moral of this story… When the Holy People gave us life they gave everyone the same bundle. “We give you this to understand, learn, and test”.

When teaching these stories many people ask for comparisons so they can better understand what is being taught. The idea of all people being created equal isn’t new.

Our Diné have stories that teach this concept just like this story of coyote and the bundle.
