Soft, calming hues give this necklace an effortless elegance that's easy to wear in every season. Vibrant turquoise is paired with smooth amazonite beads in gentle shades of ivory, blush, cream, and pale golden yellow, creating a palette that feels light, fresh, and beautifully balanced. At 24 inches, it drapes gracefully, making it an easy choice whether worn on its own or layered with other favorite pieces.

Each material contributes its own distinctive beauty to the design. The turquoise provides rich color, natural texture, and one-of-a-kind character through its varied shapes and earthy matrix. Smooth amazonite beads introduce softness and subtle contrast, bringing a polished finish that highlights the turquoise rather than competing with it. Sterling silver accents quietly complete the necklace with a touch of refinement, allowing every element to work together in perfect harmony.

Turquoise has remained one of the most treasured materials in traditional Navajo jewelry for generations, admired for its natural beauty and individuality. Every stone carries its own unique patterns, making each handcrafted necklace unlike any other. Paired with complementary natural materials, this design reflects an enduring appreciation for authentic craftsmanship and timeless style.

Created by Navajo artist Darlene Huskie, this necklace reflects nearly 30 years of experience creating jewelry that is elegant, wearable, and thoughtfully designed. Having learned through her husband's family, Darlene carefully arranges each material to achieve balance, proportion, and lasting beauty. Her work is meant to become part of your everyday collection while remaining just as special years from now.

Because authenticity matters, every turquoise piece from Navajo Traditional Teachings includes a Certificate of Authenticity. In a marketplace filled with imported imitations and misleading claims, you can wear your jewelry with confidence, knowing exactly who created it and where it came from.

Meet The Artist

Meet Darlene... Navajo Jewelry Artist

Darlene Huskie is a Navajo jewelry artist with nearly three decades of experience creating hand-strung turquoise necklaces and traditional Diné adornment. Taught within her husband’s family, she carries forward a lineage of beadwork that blends patience, precision, and cultural memory.

Working with turquoise, sterling silver, shell, and glass beads, Darlene carefully selects and arranges each element by hand, allowing color, balance, and natural beauty to guide every design. Her pieces are not mass-produced — each necklace is individually made, reflecting the quiet skill and steady hands of an artist who has spent a lifetime perfecting her craft.

Darlene is of the Nakai Diné Clan, and her work reflects the enduring Navajo tradition of jewelry as both personal adornment and cultural expression.

Authentic Turquoise

With only 5 active turquoise mines left in the U.S.—led by the iconic Kingman Mine—much of today’s turquoise comes from past sources. Check the map… your piece may be rarer than you think.
